Information for trap shoot

Minnesota Trail Hound Assoc. Trap Shoot State Championship
Three Divisions – Men’s, Women’s, And Youth (Age 16 and under)
A state champion will be honored in each division.

25 bird rounds - The top shooter in each qualifying round will go to the semi finals. May shoot in more then one qualifying round.
Top shooter in semi finals round will go to finals. Top shooter in finals is the State champion. $4.00 fee per round.

Must be a MTHA member to participate (exception - membership rule waived for spouses of members and the youths)
Shotguns choke can be no more open then modified No spreader loads or reloads. Shells for sale on grounds.
Registration is from 8:00am to 10:00am. Open shoot starts at 10:00am. Competition starts at 11:00am.

From Motley go north on Hwy 64 2 miles, take left (West) on 33 for 2 1/2 miles, go Rt. North on 106 for 3 miles

All events require participants to be MTHA members. Membership is $10 per year and you may join day of event.

NOTE: The cut off date for dogs to qualify for the 2008 puppy hunts will be that they are born after March 1st 2007.


2008 Summer Hunt Rules:


1. All hunts are 3 hours long. Start time will be approx. 1/2 hour before sunrise.
2. $25.00 entry fee per hound.
3. 20 dog’s maximum per hunt. Top 10 dogs will qualify for finals.
4. 2 dogs per judge maximum. We will accept extra dogs if there is less than 20.
5. Call Herman (JR) Heinz (218) 894-3757 to register numbers (#’s) and be put on a list for extra dogs.
6. Please call one (1) week in advance of hunts and register for all of the hunts at the same time.
7. In addition to individual Hunt Championship we will have a Series Championship as well.

(Top scored hound in at least 2 puppy qualifying hunts and the championship will be named: “MTHA Series Champion”)
